WSP’s Engineering Team is committed to utilizing the latest engineering technologies to develop electrical submersible pump system products of international standards that continually address the needs of its customers. WSP continually strives to lead the industry in product quality, reliability, and innovation.

WSP Engineering team is diversified into the following specialized groups:

The Mechanical Engineering group is headed up by Dr. Woon Lee, who has a PHD in Mechanical Engineering from Rice University. Dr. Lee and his engineers have decades of experience in the design and optimization of new electrical submersible pump technologies including high-efficiency, high-temperature, corrosion and abrasive resistant and gas lifting technologies that provide extended run lives in harsh environments.

The Electrical Engineering group is headed up by Thomas Orlowski who has a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering and Control Automation. Thomas and his engineers are committed to moving away from the outdated electronics technologies so prevalent in our industry today and introducing new state of the art fixed and variable speed drives, motor controllers and well monitoring systems utilizing the latest and most reliable electronics technologies.

The Horizontal Pump Systems Engineering group headed up by Scott Hagan who has a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering and extensive experience in Horizontal Pump Applications and Design. Scott and his team are committed to providing highly engineered horizontal pumping systems, which ensure low-maintenance and highly versatile alternatives to the conventional high cost, high-maintenance split-case, plunger and vertical turbine centrifugal pump applications. WSP’s horizontal pumping systems are a highly viable option for applications in the water, oil, gas, and mining industries where the high-pressure movement of fluids is required.
The Applications & Special Projects Engineering group is headed up by Adel Al-Haygana who has a Bachelors Degree in Petroleum Engineering and over 20 years of experience in Artificial Lift Applications Design and Optimization.  This group consists of experts in the areas of Artificial Lift Applications Design & Optimization, Alternate Deployed & Inverted Systems, and Cable & Materials Engineering and is committed to providing technical support to WSP’s customers through its global sales and field service organizations.
Research & Development - WSP reinvests over 5% of its sale revenues into research and development. WSP’s R&D Center in Shanghai, China is dedicated to the research and development efforts of new innovative pumping technologies and is fully equipped to test and verify the performance of new prototypes as well as existing products.

Working together, these engineering groups provide a foundation of excellence and a tremendous depth of engineering expertise with the ultimate goal of providing value and satisfaction to WSP’s customers worldwide.
