Alkhorayef Petroleum invests over 5% of sales revenues into research and development. The Technology Center in Shanghai- China is dedicated to the research and development effort of new innovative pump, seal, motor, and MLE technologies. It is fully equipped to test and verify the performance of new prototypes as well as existing products.

The Technology Center in Shanghai-China occupies 740 m3 of space that was specifically modified to house Alkhorayef’s specialized test equipment, with ample space let for future growth needs, to facilitate development and testing of new technologies and products. The employees at the Shanghai Technology Center concentrate their effort on developing new technologies and products that enhance ESP products in the oil and gas industry, along with supplying engineering support for Alkhorayef’s sales and manufacturing operations worldwide.

While Shanghai Technology Center concentrates primarily on mechanical engineering research and development efforts, the Technology Center in Al-Khobar-KSA focuses on the electrical engineering research and development needs of Alkhorayef’s product offerings. Among these integral ESP products are the supplementary Surface Equipment, including Fixed & Variable Speed Drives and pump motor controllers.

In addition to researching new solutions and developing new products, Al-Khobar Technology center provides continual electrical engineering and technical support to Alkhorayef’s sales, manufacturing, and field operations. However and directly to the customer, the Al-Khobar Technology center serves as a research and development conduit between the costumer and their vendors, to facilitate testing and integration of new promising and pilot solutions in the region.
